Or better still restart business and reset direction
Although the world didn’t stop as Covid-19 spread, the impact of the actions taken by countries abruptly halted a great deal of economic activity. Organisations and their wider ecosystem including customers, supply chain and colleagues are coping with the crisis to varying degrees of success and struggling to see the way ahead.
We need to take stock of actions during lockdown and understand what worked and what didn’t. Rapid adaptation to large-scale remote working was generally successful in terms of technology, but how do people feel for this to become the new norm.
How should we adjust the in-crisis processes to take into account how we actually want to work as we restart. Can we turn it to an advantage and adopt smart working policies and practices. Plus save cash by freeing up our estate, lease agreements permitting.
What about our customers? Do they prefer us or the competition based on our behaviour during the last few month. How can we tell what they intend to do when we don’t have in-person conversations. Have ethical expectations changed?
Not to mention a big dent in revenue and even less confidence in forecasts than usual.
Doing a review across all relevant perspectives, restarting & resetting the organisation and embarking on a new sustainable direction requires business design. Organisations that don’t do this will move into a new existential crisis.
